An Exterior View of the Chapel

The Chapel

The Bryn Seion Chapel has been sympathetically renovated and brought back to life, offering a contemporary feel. The history has been retained in the design of the Pontcysyllte Chapel Tearoom, and original features have been preserved.

Staff offer a warm welcome to all guests who want to enjoy food and beverages in a modernised chapel. With underfloor heating, restrooms, Wi-Fi, and on-site parking, guests can enjoy their visit in comfort.

Coffee, brewed from freshly roasted beans by Adam and Russell, and professionally made by trained baristas can be enjoyed, alongside a variety of foods, from breakfasts, to lighter meals, such as jacket potatoes, salads and sandwiches.

Guests will enjoy the local historical attractions, such as the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, that was completed in 1805, by Thomas Telford, which can be found a short walk away from the Pontcysyllte Chapel Tearoom.

For more information on the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, see here.

We hope to you see soon.

Our Reviews

"Fabulous restaurant/tea rooms in atmospheric old chapel building. So good we visited twice while walking canal tow path. Super toasted sandwiches. Excellent menu choice and the food coming from the kitchens all looked good. Very pleasant staff. Highly recommended."

"A great little find a short distance from the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Initially we just paid the £2 for parking but once we finished our stroll we frequented the cafe for tea and a yummy slice of Victoria sponge. An added bonus was that the parking charge was deducted from our bill. The cafe is also dog friendly which is a big plus for us. All the staff we encountered were cheerful and polite. Thank you to everyone at the cafe for making our day brighter."

"A beautifully restored and renovated Chapel houses this welcoming, friendly tea room.

There is an excellent menu of hot and cold food and drink at very reasonable prices - the cappuccino is one of the best I have ever had!

"Brilliant cafe for something to eat, car park attached is free if you're having food so you can go for a walk after.

Tea for two came in a large tea pot, enough for 3 cups each."

"A nice conversion of a Welsh Chapel. They've kept a lot of the character of the building, the paneling and support pillars and the massive windows which allows the sunlight to stream in, as a result the building is light and airy.
There is a reasonable sized car park adjacent to the building and an access ramp for those with restricted mobility up to the main door.
Staff were very pleasant and take your order at the counter and then bring it to your table when ready.
The place was moderately busy when we arrived (weekday morning), there is a second floor so I couldn't see how many people were on that level.
Prices are reasonable and they do have a frequent customer card, which offers discounts/freebies when you fill it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Has an access ramp up to the main doors for those using wheelchairs or with restricted mobility.
